What’s Next for Disaster Forum Conference?

To all of our loyal partners in Disaster Forum. To our delegates, speakers and sponsors:

I am getting more and more enquiries about what disaster forum will look like this year and into the future. The short answer is that the forum is taking on a new look. Many of you provided great input hen we surveyed you. And we heard what you had to say. You told us that you like many things about the conference but are open to new ways of bringing learning, knowledge transfer and networking to risk management practitioners. The Disaster Forum advisory committee has taken your feedback to heart and we are working hard to evaluate the conference. We intend to roll out our Disaster Forum plan for 2018 very, very soon. No later than the end of April. We’d like to get this to you sooner but time for volunteers is hard to come by and we are all volunteers in this. Keep a close eye on this space for more information. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Update August 1, 2017

After nearly 20 years in operation, DF has decided it’s time to take a step back and evaluate where we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re headed. In fall and winter of 2017, we’ll be taking time to check in with our stakeholders to learn about their needs, and how DF can continue to be a relevant and valuable service. If you’ve engaged with DF in the past, we hope you will continue to do so as we work to make DF an even greater asset to the emergency management community.

In early 2018, the Board will reconvene to discuss what we’ve heard, and decide next steps for the coming year. Please stay tuned to this page for updates at that time, or contact us for more information.
