1998 - Disaster Forum |
|
The first Disaster Forum conference was held in Edmonton, Alberta in June of 1998. The Conference was intended to be a one-time international event that provided delegates with an exchange of ideas on the cycle of emergency mitigation, planning, response, and recovery. Disaster Forum '98 was host to 350 participants, representing 18 countries worldwide.
Conference delegates were treated to a series of first rate sessions, as well as an impressive emergency response demonstration that showcased the abilities of three levels of government and industry to respond to a large-scale disaster.
Delegates attending Disaster Forum '98 rated the conference an overwhelming success and encouraged organizers to make the conference a regular event that provides emergency preparedness professionals with a venue to receive training and keep up-to-date on the latest trends and issues in the field. |
